I'd like to help him out and help him get some exposure, but I don't know dick about the available options / methods to getting some initial exposure for new vids.

It's not my kind of music (I don't listen to hiphop/club stuff), but he's been at it for awhile and figured I'd try to help.

he went to LA to shoot this video.

My cousin is a sad rapper. He raps about sad things.

Two positives about his rapping:

1) He doesn't need to decompress after performing.

2) He has zero rapping ambition.

Before he spent so much money on this video (or any future expenses for that matter), he should have tested his demographics first.

For instance, Flo-Rida tests all of his beats/songs at strip clubs. If the girls dance, it's a hit.

This is just plain wack.

You know why I hate music videos? Because most of the fucking time the video has nothing to do with the song. It's just some dudes bouncing around, maybe some chicks, a few effects, and overall just shit. This one is not any different. Music isn't terrible, but nothing special either.

Beat is good.. lyrics are OK, nothing much different then anything else I guess. Not a fan of the video though it does look like it was professionally done. I can't be a ton of help but most bands/rappers I've known to have any success had a guy on the inside.. sometimes just dumb luck finding that guy too.

Teach him how to research his market before he creates something that nobody is going to buy/listen to? This is horrible.
