This might be old news or then again it might be brand new, I haven't noticed it before, I just logged into my account and saw a banner leading to this https://www.paypal-education.com.au/aml/

Does anyone know how much the "specific transcation level" is that they talk about? Ive tried finding it in their privacy policy but i cant see it anywhere.

I think this is not new. I had to verify my account about a year ago by sending them the copy of my driving license. I didn't do any huge transactions at that time, a few hundreds per month at most. When I asked why I have to provide my ID they reasoned it with some new anti money laundering law in EU.

The receiving limit before you need to verify your identity is quite low, I think it's $2,500 volume per year if I'm not mistaken. You could always just call them up and ask too.

*Correction - it's €1,000 in the EU (about $1,340), not per year, but in total since the account's existence. Not sure about the US.

ok cool thanks for the replies fellas, just gotta watch my ass, just thought i'd ask.

Oh well guess it's time to pay my paypal monies taxes, I new it was coming sooner or later!
