After getting a ninja blender near the beginning of 2012, I have used it almost daily for blending fruits and/or vegetables into tasty smoothies.
So now I bought a juicer which I will use in *addition* to blending. Mainly I'll be using it to increase my intake of nutrients from green leafy veggies, and more of my smoothies will be straight fruit instead of fruit/greens. Or at least not has heavily loaded with greens. The reason for that is because I feel like I digest better when I have straight fruit vs. fruit and greens. But that's another thread...so anyways.
Anyone have a recipe they like? I went out and bought: celery, carrots, kale, cucumber, apples, ginger, and a lemon. I'm probably going to try out the "mean green" recipe from Sick, Fat, and Nearly Dead for my first juice.
By the way - for anyone reading this and thinking about getting a juicer or blender, I would advise to *start* with blending since you get the pulp/fiber that way. Juicing is just a supplement to blending, imo.
So let's talk juicing.
Oh, and here's the specific model I got: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Omega-J8004-Nutrition-Commercial-Masticating/dp/B001RLYOEE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341623828&sr=8-1&keywords=omega+j8004"]Amazon.com: Omega J8004 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, White: Kitchen & Dining[/ame]
