End of the rainbow
So I've been experimenting with Kava Kava as a nice sedative/downer when needed. Anyone else take the stuff? Would be curious to hear what form and dosage you're taking and your thoughts. I'm currently experimenting with gelcaps that contains pure root extract, but will soon be trying actual powdered root and making tea/drinks, etc. This stuff seems like natural valium without any side effects or addiction potential ... it's pretty sweet.

Wife and I brought home about 2 kilo's of the real stuff from our month long trip to Fiji. Drank it every night while we were out there and getting to know the villagers....but have honestly only touched it once or twice since we came back.

Body buzz, makes me exhausted, but ultimately makes me lazy as shit and unable to have the desire to do anything whatsoever both that night and the next day.

oh I thought nobody else in the forum knew about this special herb! It isn't that it's addictive, but if done right something that keeps you wanting more. The recommended dose is 200mg, I say go for 400mg in combination of 200mg-400mg of caffeine and you won't get the affect that DrewClement is talking about lol

The main thing you gotta watch out for is the countries that the product is imported from. Some may include contaminates which do fuck your kidneys. When I was taking the pill form imported from some african country I started to get cramps in my stomach from it, but that didn't stop me. If you ever get your hands on liquid extract then it's a better experience.

I would often make strong strong green tea and add about 400mg of kavakava extract to start my day. It gives you the positive attitude and relaxation without drowsiness or the jitters you may get from high intake of caffeine. In high dosages it also makes you lightheaded and numb in the face, mouth, and throat.

Will definitely try this. I seep the tea for about 5 minutes at night. It's very similar to 5-10 mgs of valium depending on yer bodyweight

kava is legit. IDK about buying it online though. We have kava bars here in the tropics.

Check out kratom while you're at it.

+1 Kratom can be quite nice, I've only ever bothered with the high extracts though.

Reading through the thread Kava Kava sounds incredibly similar to Kanna. Mild euphoria and relaxation, and also a tendency to get bored of it and never take it again.

Anyone tried both?

@PhillipMarlow: Xanax ftw. Same effect, a hell of a lot shorter half life.

surprised no one's mentioned the harmful effects on the liver and the fact that i think its banned in the us of a

problem is you dont want to take xanax every day. kava kava you can no problem

Yeah, I wasn't advocating taking valium everyday plus I'm pretty sure Kava Kava aint gonna get you to sleep coming down from a session of proper stims. For general everyday (for relaxing, stress, etc) use I would never ever recommend anything chemically made.

Just pointing out if you do take diaz/valium regularly Xanax is a much better option in terms of not becoming dependant. Valium has an insanely long lasting half life (about 7 days) which will also affect tolerance levels, you end up taking more and more as your tolerance levels last longer and then if you do become dependant it will be so much harder to get off it than xanax.

Kava from the root doesn't have harmful effects to the liver, it's just when people take it from other parts of the plant that gave it that bad rep. Kava root=fine.

Say what? You got it all backwards bro. The longer the half life, the easier it is to taper off of something. What do you think they do with people addicted to high doses of Xanax? They switch them to a Valium taper.

Xanax is also way more habit forming due to the extremely short half life i.e. you can literally feel when it starts working and then feel when it stops working in a matter of hours. That's why it's almost impossible to taper off of Xanax - because of the extremely short half life. Xanax = crack

I tried kava kava paste from konakavafarm and it really wasn't worthwhile, even when taking 2-3 times recommended dose.
I did like the numbing effect I got on my tongue...

Numbing effect is definitely amazing. I could never get the great effects others described though. I've heard there's a break through period, where it takes a week or so of regular use to start getting better effects, but even that never did anything great for me.
