It's just the RC release for now. I was gonna download it earlier, but I had so many headaches getting 10 to work with my wired and wireless cards.

I'll likely download the stable release when it comes out, but wondering if any of you have tried it? Any good bug fixes, new functionality, etc?

Why don't you just grab regular ol Ubuntu? You can install all the good stuff pretty much right during the install process.
 
There's no real reason why I don't use Ubuntu. I just fell in love with Mint because it installed codecs automatically, along with it's look and feel. Again though, I don't really have any justifiable reason behind my preference.

Never tried any of the debian releases. I've heard you have to spend more time dicking around in the terminal (simple applets, software installs, etc) -- is this true or not?
