I got lost a couple of times here because of Apple Maps. It's really a shitty map.

Apple Executive Refused to Sign Maps Apology - WSJ.com

Apple Inc. AAPL -0.91% executive Scott Forstall was asked to leave the company after he refused to sign his name to a letter apologizing for shortcomings in Apple's new mapping service, according to people familiar with the matter.

The incident was the latest clash between Mr. Forstall, who oversaw Apple's mobile software unit, and other executives at the company.

Apple is fucking dead.

I haven't read a negitive story about the interworkings of Apple, like ever. Steve Jobs dies, this happens.

Steve Jobs dies, maps goes to shit.

Steve Jobs dies, nobody gives a fuck about iPhone 5 and there was hardly a peep about there little Apple convention where they unveil all their new shit for the year.

When Steve Jobs was around, I couldn't fucking get away from Apple News. Every fucking time the company farted, it was in headlines everywhere.

Imagine for a second that this maps situation happened when Jobs was on the job. I know, you can't imagine it because it wouldn't have happened unless hell had froze over.

As much as I think Jobs was a stupid buttfuck, he was a fucking beast of a CEO.

Maybe I'm over-reacting, but everything I have seen from Apple since Jobs died looks nothing like the arrogant and perfect Apple I have grown to hate. Their performance/marketing/quality since the fuhrer passed away has been worse than Microshit.

To be fair the iPhone 5 did exceed sales records..

But, I getcha. iOS6 maps is still terrible. Surely, during testing the logical conclusion would be to identify it's lackluster performance when compared to Google and scrap it. It's all an ego thing.

I wouldn't say that bro... Have you played with a surface yet?

I was in the microsoft store for 10 minutes total and lost count of all the reasons it's going to be the worst launch of microsoft's history. Seems to me that the entire industry is getting lazy or something... Perhaps it'll be up to google (d'oh!) to revive the tablet and PC market overall.

Really? Exceeded sales records? Or exceeded sales expectations for the iPhone 5?

How is it even possible that it exceed sales records? It's an iPhone 4 with worse maps, you're telling me it broke sales records? If so, a new low of humanity has been reached.

Yep. It hit 20% more sales than the 4S did in the same time even though there were severe supply constraints.

The problem with Apple now is when they were on a roll, 2008-12, there wasn't nearly anything in the market that you could even compare to Apple. When Android first came out, the iPhone shit on it. All the phones were plastic, buggy, ugly pieces of shit with no apps. Though I still think iPhone is better than any Android out there right now, it looks like Samsung has finally caught up as a viable, expensive alternative to the iPhone. Furthermore they are being squeezed at the low end of the market: poor people are getting Androids and not iPhones. I also read that about 60% of the people getting the iPhone 5 are just upgrading their old device, so basically the market for iPhone isn't growing as fast as it once was.

Same as iPad. I remember getting the iPad when it first came out, and I recently upgraded it to the iPad 3... and it's just not as cool anymore. I've owned some early Android tablets that were just P.O.S.'s but now Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are eating into the 60%+ market share of tablets. Before it was like shooting fish in a barrel, but when the going got tough for Apple they had to come out with the stupid iPad mini and piss off their loyal customers and push out the iPad 4 for holiday season since everyone's focused on Windows 8 these days.

There's also a large legion of Apple haters that will refuse to buy their products; this is because people dislike Apple's closed environment, their Nazi-like behavior regarding patents, the belief that Apple products are overpriced and simply because there will be a large segment of people that will dislike any corporation when they are on top (haters).

IMO, Apple will say on top, but they will take a dip. I think by the end of 2013 they will no longer be the biggest company in the world, and their ego will turn into a limp dick.

I love to hate Apple.

Care to expand on that? Why was the Surface launch so bad?

This is probably one of the only things you and I agree on in life.

I don't get it. Isn't the iPhone 5 literally the same thing as 4s except a little longer? Why would you update to a new one if it's the same thing?

The 4S was already a win but people kept cribbing about a bigger screen. People got what they wanted and the company's sales stood strong without doing much. Its a win-win situation for both. The disappointment of the customers could be erased with the introduction of the iphone 6, which thanks to the lack of new features in the iPhone 5 can shine like glittery ass and make people forget about the iPhone 5s lack of new features.

Google is included in your "entire industry" smartass. Also, tablet IS a PC. If you were referring to the chromebook, well that sucks.
