Spent all of last night reading ^^ (2 hours on that arbi thread was rough) trying to decide what im going to do when i get these exams out of the way. I have roughly $100-$200 to spare, and want to either do arbi or aff. Main concerns with arbi is that

1. net 30 payouts, even if i make a profit spend all the cash it will take 60 days to get back to me, and i wont have anything to invest for the next month
2. i have already been banned from adsense once, i would have to make a new account under a family members name, there may be a chance of them finding out and banning the accout mid campaign which would sting a bit ^^
3. Say everything doesnt go to plan, i have spent $100 and only have a $50 return, i wouldnt be able to get at that $50 unless i managed to make another $50

Aff obviously seems like the better option with net 15 payouts so i could keep reinvesting the checks as soon as they come. But one concern is that will $100/200 (+ coupons) be enough to test an aff offer? Secondly i currently dont have a site, so if anyone could help get me into azoogle i would be very grateful and happily sign up under your ref URL.

Soo in my position, would you suggest going down the arbi or aff route?

So, you have $100 - 200 to spare. Let's call it $150. First, you need a site, correct? So, you spend $8 on a .com, and get your hosting for $7. If you go with GoDaddy, you can even pay your hosting month by month. So you don't need to shell out a whole year at once. Now, you have $135 left. If you are going to do PPC, I suggest starting with YSM. I like Yahoo! because there is a decent amount of traffic, CTR and overall conversions tend to run a little higher than Google, the traffic is cheaper and the system is easier to use for a n00b.

As for what to run, talk to your Affiliate Manager. They'll be happy to help you find a good campaign. Tell them you're new, there's no shame in that.

Last, report back.

thanks for the reply mike, so aff looks like the better option. How much should i spend in testing to get a good view of what the actual ROI will be? What value should i cut off at if im getting no convertions? Keeping in mind that i have a very limited budget. Or is it worth just throwing the whole $150 at one aff offer, but over a period of time to provide an oppurtunity to tweak the landing page.

one quick suggestion, you might want to start with promoting a lead, when starting out i found them easier to convert than sales-based offers. just a thought... as far as getting into azoogle, buy a domain and throw up a wordpress blog... for example, they have some offer for thompson cigars. go buy "ismokecigars.com" and write a handful of blog entries. throw up a picture of a cigar - all of this should take less than a hour or so, and you should get accepted to azoogle. although i should note it took them a couple of weeks to get back to me. but if you have a whitehat content site, you shouldn't have a problem getting accepted.

If it takes more than a day for Azoogle to get back to you then call them.

Because you are on such limited funds, the options are a bit limited for those two choices. It may take a bit more money to get some traction or your chosen affiliate program may simply be a dud. With arbi you may only make back some of your money if you can't find any profitable niches. Plus, as you said it will take a while to get your money back.

So my question is does it have to be arbi or affiliate? If you have time, there are other ways of making money on the net.

What about just selling some stuff that you can buy at a bargain on Ebay or Craigslist? There is also the trick of using Yahoo answers as a free way to get arbi clicks as described in one of the threads here.

In short you act as an expert answering questions on Yahoo Answers then subtly suggest they go to your site for more information. On your site, it can even be a free Blogger blog, you have a bit more info, mostly a presell and have Adsense and/or affiliate offers on that page.

If you are a good writer offer some article writing services on the webmaster forums provided you know a little about what they want. Arbi articles, presells, content article packs, blog postings etc.

If you have LOTS of time, you could try Myspace spamming promoting zip, email submits and other offers.

This site will offer you money for articles and other content if they like what you submit.

Try Squidoo marketing for long tail keywords to your Blogger blog with an affiliate offer.

Once you have built up a bit more capital with these low to no cost methods then you can try arbi or affiliate programs with ppc to your own site without risk of losing everything your first time out.

Hope this helps.

This might be an effective way; however will get you banned from most affiliate accounts and total loss of any revenue.

would $50 over say 5 days be enough to make judgements on offers? Looking at coupons over at the lazy hippys blog, i figure i can get about $260 of free credit (across adcenter, YSM and adwords) when spending around $130. So that gives a total of $390 to play with... and to get under a 1:0.333 (redeem the initial costs), something would have to go terribly wrong from what i have read.

I do have a few myspace accounts somewhere (a few thou friends), might send out a load of adult offers again to see if i can get any response, but i doubt it... i would prefer to go down the arbi of aff route, as that seems to be where the money is, and is potentially something i can scale over time or when more funds become available.

Cheers everyone for the replies

If i started a page promting an aff product, which engine would be best to test with? I know mike suggested YSM, but does anyone think differently

where can you see what programs azoogle and copeac carry? I couldnt find a page on their sites that show all of the offers...?
