This is the process that was followed :
1st Day :
1) Selected a niche. (A product available on amazon)
2) Got Domain & Designed Site to match the niche.
3) Selected the keywords.
a) The keywords in this articular niche have low searches. Somewhere around 22-50 searches a month for that particular demographics. Google could not estimate the traffic due to low volume.
b) All keywords were either 'phrase' or 'exact' match.
(<--- Could these two points be the main issue? ----> )
4) Divided these into groups based on the keyword theme, created ads & a page on the site for each group. Keywords had QS of 6 to 7.
5) In campaign settings, set it to auto bid, search network, and waited for results.

--> 4th Day, still not a single impression. So,
6) Added Broad Match for each adgroup thinking it may increase impressions.
7) Increased maximum auto-bid limit.
8) Added another country in the targeting.

--> Not a single ad impression.

Was it the wrong niche ?
What kind of search traffic is the minimum that should be looked for while selecting a niche ?
Is product PPC promotion suitable for a newbie or does it have pain points that need some experience to excavate ? Or should a newbie stick with promoting offers ?

exactly. with that few searches, unless they are buy keywords, it will be very difficult.

Try looking for keywords using exact searches and look for a few keywords that have more than a thousand. A lot of people say look for a few thousand or more but if it is the right keyword and product you can make more than enough with 1k searches. I have a site that makes a couple to few hundred a month and a couple grand in the right months off a keyword that gets 400 searches a month, but I definitely haven't found it to be typical, just a specific keyword that people want sometimes...and it helps that it isn't amazon so i get more than a couple of dollars a sale.

just keep putting up sites and you will find something that works. Also, if you are going all out and making real sites you might as well start seoing them as well as opposed to pure ppc.

It all depends on you but u need to work really hard to get traffic for high competitive keyword, there are lot of techniques few of they will go for SEM traffic but the real traffic is SEO because that is permanent .If you work hard in the beginning then automatically Google will give u lot of traffic!!!

Simple math... 22-50 searches probably isn't enough, unless your niche is super tight and your offer converts INCREDIBLY well.

If your offer can convert profitably with that little traffic then you don't need to be worried about it after 4 days. But, of course, you won't know how it converts till you get more traffic.

Overall, I completely agree with Otinsdale's post.

I agree with Otinsdale, look for a few keywords that have more than a thousand, 22-50 searches a month is not enough.
