Are there cookies for CPA offers?

i.e. dating offers...if you go through a CPA network is there any sort of cookie that gets you commissions if the person comes back to the site a week later...or do you only get paid if the person joins right away

Some do some dont. You can manually check your cookie folder to see if it drops. It's always stated in their tos if so.

Damn near every company detects the conversion with a cookie. So yes. In most cases they won't last long though.
If all else fails: visit the offer through your affiliate link, run Live HTTP Headers or Firebug, and manually look at how long the cookie gets set for.
