Hi Guys,

I have been doing some reading up on article spinning but I am still confused. Is article spinning taking an article and changing it around a bit so that it does not resemble the same article but is still effectively the same article?

Yes. You change words and/or sentances and/or paragraphs so that the article usually has the same line of argument but appears to be a completely unique article.

The more unique you make the new article's then many people believe this make's it more likely to not be caught out by google's duplicate content policy. The more readable you make the new article then the more people will actually read it.

You can also find software that spins articles for you. You write it in a syntax that allows it to make tons of variations of your article.

Article spinning is a unique version of the old content. For spinning we change the existing article by replacing elements to have a slightly different perspective on the topic.

I think “article rewriting” when I read what you wrote. Article spinning as far as I’m concerned is getting software to re-write your article for you, as many variations as you request. As mentioned, an article spinner lets you substitute synonyms, re-write phrases, or entire sentences and places the variations in syntax that it then uses to spin your new unique articles. Some spinners are better than others ;)

Thank you. Those answers have helped me to understand a little better. It sounds like article spinners could save you quite a bit of time but just wondering if it dilutes your article. Feels like you are not really adding any value to the content.

Can any of you explain to me the difference between "deep spinning" and "flat spin"?

I have searched for some spinners but have not found an explanation for this feature. Is it an important one? Should a spinner have it?

thanks

One note: Be careful about article spinning. If Google catches you, they kill you for it. It's much safer to sit down and write your own content than to spin.

Article rewriting and article spinning, are two terms that I find to be a bit confusing especially when people use the terms interchangeably. However, I am with TheWinslow on this one

IMO, articles are great tools for viral marketing. However, when considering variations of an article for submissions and stuff you should be really mindful about the quality of every variation.

This brings us to...

I think deep spinning is synonymous to nested spinning and a flat spin is say a simple sentence level spin. Like for instance

"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"

In its flat spin would be:
{The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.|The nimble brown fox leaped above the slothful hound.}

While its deep/nested spun version would be:
{The [quick|fast|nimble] [brown|black|white] [fox|jackal|wolf] jumps|leaps [above|over] the [lazy|slothful|lethargic] [dog|mutt|hound|pup.]

Of course foxes, jackals and wolves are of different species. :)

Oh, another note of caution about article spinning: if you spin an article you didn't write, don't be surprised if the original author contacts your host. A lot of hosts would rather just shut a site down than deal with a possible copyright lawsuit, and Google Alerts makes it very easy for an author to spot when their content has been stolen.

LOL !

I don't trust the spinners, for the very reason that a couple of you have mentioned. If all they're doing is changing some adjectives/nouns/verbs "I" can do that! I know people think it's a time saver, and it well may be, but why risk your website or even your reputation if you are placing your name on some 'spun' article. Better to hire a ghost writer or hammer out something on your own than run that risk.

Most people don't use spinners for money pages on their money sites.

They do it for subpages or for filter sites (site networks, blog networks, etc.)

I agree with this, though I can see the appeal of a spun article if you're short of cash/time/etc. But it just seems easier to just write another article and not risk losing your entire site.

There's a huge difference between automated spinning and manual spinning, and it would be a real chore to be doing manual spinning without any kind of software...
