I have to say I was quite shocked. And you know being around here, it takes alot to shock me.

It's fine to keep that stuff on the internet...but on our airwaves? I don't know....am I just a closet prude?

The Peta ad was a fix for sure. They never intended to have their ad run. Now everyone sees the ad and they don't have to pay. As much as I despise Peta, it was a genius move and surely one of collusion with NBC.

I guess... I saw the ad and didn't think much of it. It rated about a 3/10 on the "omg I'm shocked" scale.

Hmm. That's thought provoking, cause the PETA ad didn't shock me either (although I kinda see why they banned it) yet this Ashleymadison ad did.

Look at the "guarantee" requirements:

  1. Use your "Affair Guarantee" Membership Package to create a profile with a primary photo (public or private). Your profile and primary photo must be approved by AshleyMadison.com within the first 30 days of purchasing your "Affair Guarantee" Membership Package in order for you to be eligible for the Program. Details on approval of your profile and primary photo available at FAQ.
  2. Keep your profile visible at all times during the first 3 months of purchasing your "Affair Guarantee" Membership Package.
  3. Send a "Qualifying" priority mail message to at least 20 different AshleyMadison.com members each month. A "Qualifying Mail Message" must be a priority mail message you send to a unique AshleyMadison.com member who has not yet messaged you or a priority mail message response you send to a unique AshleyMadison.com member who has messaged you. A "Qualifying Mail Message" must be a priority mail message sent through the AshleyMadison.com service and does not include any other method of communicating (such as AshleyMadison.com winks or emails sent outside of the AshleyMadison.com system).
  4. Send at least 5 AshleyGifts per month.
  5. Instant message with members for at least 60 minutes per month through the AshleyMadison.com service.
  6. Adhere to all the steps set out in the Affair Guarantee Program.
And that's not even all of them.

Vegetarians have better sex? I'm off to an animal rights protest to bag me a hottie.

I give the site 3 months before all the guys figure out they are having hot steamy online affairs with myspace bots and all the girls put 2+2 when they notice all the guys end their love notes with:

good luck bros.

Just read it somewhere

Just found out my husband was cheating, with someone for the last 4 years. No idea, he obviouslyused this site, he was a master at it. He actually thought he’d get away with it, till I caunght him 4 weeks ago. I’ll have a really hard time trusting him, and I’d like to tear her face off, if I run into her.--Cindy

come on, I see more tits on german tv in 2 hours than you guys will ever see in one year. Now you complain about a dating platform advertising with a little of spice to get peoples attention...

oh well, I bet it would've been ok to advertise guns.

Screw morals (totally).
I am beginning to see sites being advertised in the classic media more and more. Posters with gossip sites, TV ads with dating sites. Last year there was a TV ad all over the place about a new social network.

I think it is time to check up on the offline ad pricelist. I mean, once you have your perfect converting demographic from facebook, why not target the same offline demographic? TV series and shows have perfect viewer stats.
