Asking for start up money

So right now I'm saving some money up before diving full force into ppc. I believe my plan has potential and the anxiety to begin is killing me. Currently I work a square job at a retail store and hate waiting every 2 weeks to get a flimsy check.

How would I go about asking some family friends for a little start up capital geared towards my AM endeavors? My parents are in a well known committee with many of the members successful at what they do. I went to the national convention a few months ago and witnessed members donating thousands and thousands to the committee for future growth.

Since my parents are well respected in the organization I was thinking I could ask some of the other members help me fund my online marketing. I want to do this in a professional way without coming across as if I'm beggin for money (lol yes I know I am). I could just lie to them and tell them I am raising money for some school organization but I am trying to avoid any shady tactics here. Is this a good or bad idea? Anyone else reach out to investors to help fund your ppc work at the begging stages? How should I go about doing this? Thanks in advance

Your best bet is to offer to do PPC for them. If you know what you're doing, then pitch yourself as being able to increase membership, raise awareness, blah blah blah.

Look around at what some of the other members suggest charging for this kind of service - think it's about 10-15% of their ad budget. Pocket that and use it to fund your campaigns. More importantly, if you do well with this group you're well on your way to building a real business out of it and won't be relying on AM for your livelihood.

I think it'd be smarter if you start small. I know it sucks but this is the (I hate this word) safest way to learn in this business.

Honestly, if you don't have some SOLID SOLID experience you'll probably lose most of that money pretty fast.

Instead of searching people who will invest in you before you have something to show, I suggest you start with your own money and build trackrecord. After you know this business inside and out and after you see some real opportunities... THEN ask for funding.

It's very lucrative to think of having a huge budget but if you don't know what you're doing you'd be better off just wiping your ass with it.

Kid, are you kidding me? The fact that you've even thought about lying under the guise of a charitable cause means you're a retard. Thats called fraud.

Investors don't fund fucking ppc campaigns. You won't get money from anyone unless you have a track record or insider information no one else has. The best part of AM is that anyone who has ever made money off it started with very little.

So get fucking real and just start doing something. There is no "plan" or "idea" to take you to the top. There is only trying, failing, and learning. Sorry to be a dick, but I have a feeling you don't know shit about what you're doing.

Use your own money. Nobody is just gonna hand money to someone with no experience. Unless, of course, they're as retarded as your fraud plan.

you need to determine your actual ROI first before asking them for anything. if you lose all of your money that's one thing...

just because you have a great idea doesn't mean you're at the stage of asking for money. it's bad at any level actually...

what you should do is find a profitable niche and invest small, re-invest and develop it. if you can do this without losing your shirt maybe .... *maybe* you ask them but i don't see anything good coming from it.

I had to borrow money form friends and family to start my first business sometime ago and know many, many other who have done the same. However borrowing money to "start" doing PPC without any previous experience? Well good luck with that.

It has been said many times. PPC rules change by the minute. You may think you have a good PPC business model today and tomorrow might be gone.

Use your own money, lose your own money. Only way to go.

I started with those measly checks that I saved from waiting two weeks at a time too. If you're real serious you make it happen whether with a small or large budget.

Appreciate all the advice. Seems like you guys are saying either keep saving or get a bank loan. Problem is I don't think any banks in their right mind would lend to a 19 year old with no previous credit. I still get credit card offers in the mail all the time and I usually just throw them away without thinking twice. But now this shit is starting to make a nigga reconsider.

I was also thinking I could just start doing ppc now with a smaller budget than raise it once I have some more money saved up. At least this way I could analyze a little testing data. Thoughts anyone?

Your questioning whether you should start small and practice first. Really. Jesus fucking Christ dude.

Get ready to lose your cash quick, and hopefully not someone elses as well. At least you'll learn a learn a quick lesson...

Everyone gotta get their feet wet at some point. PPC is not rocket science and if your not mentally retarded then you should be able to understand the basics. I am confident enough with myself to be ok with losing a few hundred and not give up...

PPC is not rocket science...

Maybe not... but ask yourself, after reading half of the threads on this site, why so many of the better informed senior members are not involved in PPC? If you are 19 and w/out any experience, understand that there are real professionals in the PPC game who are sitting on data that will take you years to accrue, and that w/out this information you have little chance of competing with them. Don't think that because you got an A in Trig that you're ready to encroach on the earnings of professionals who make more in a month than most people make in a few years.

Slide a cc, spend a few hundred (not thousand), try to break even, and then come back here with your experience and plead for some help from some of the informed PPC players. That would be your most efficient use of time and money, imo.

Your best bet is to use any extra cash you have availiable now. You can always ask people for money once you know what to do with it. Once you're familiar with PPC and can prove that to your investors, they will be more faithful in their investment and will be more willing to lend you the money.

Also by using your own money it requires you to be more responsible with it and not be lazy, as it's always way easier to spend somebody else money than it is your own. You'll have to focus more on being profitable from day 1 as you only have a limited amount. Take what you have and just get out there and do something. If you fail, there will be more money at another time, then start over again.

And for god's sake, don't lie to your parents

See if you can make money with free traffic sources first.

Borrowing money to start PPC with no experience is like borrowing a gun and joining the police force.

Yous gonna get a hole blasted in you.
