Apparently, Thunderbolt is off to a slow start, at least according to this article.

Personally, I think Thunderbolt is the best thing to come out since Firewire; Apple are always changing the world with their innovative products. It's obvious to anyone into technology that USB 3.0 is too slow for the average consumer and manufacturers need to wake up already.

You know you are winning when your critics attack you. Intel is even trying to steal the name away from Apple. Apple is #winning!

I'm selling my Macbook Pro in the next few days and I will be replacing it with a new Macbook Pro as Thunderbolt will help my Facebook and Adwords campaigns.

Are you guys using Thunderbolt as part of your IM strategy yet? How much have your conversions increased by since you started with this superior technology?

"Thunderbolt is a revolutionary I/O technology that supports high-resolution displays and high-performance data devices through a single, compact port." - Apple

Its a fast usb port...

What the ever living fuck do you do for this to be so important???

Its a fast usb drive that can daisy chain 32" apple cinema displays. Id be curious to know how its going to help his facebook ads... but my guess is external hds and another display.

#1 it was created by Intel. #2 Apple changed the name of the product which is going to cause market confusion. #3 No other computer manufacturer can use it because Apple licensed it exclusively from Intel for a year. #4 Most devices out there can't even use the speed of USB 3.0 so for MOST purposes so Thunderbolt is not really as relevant yet, and won't really be for years. #5 Eat shit Mac fags. </thread>

These days, I'm slowed down by the speed of light. It takes fucking forever for the photons from LCD to hit my retina. I moved my eyes closer to the monitor, but I'd really like to connect my brain straight to the computer. Can Thunderbolt do that?

^All of This. :bootyshake:

Actually, I'm building an i7 system this weekend. Some guy is coming by to pickup the MBP and gutting the old PC for parts and selling those online. Basically funding the cost of my new PC. Just need to get a sweet 30" monitor to replace the 24".

Don't worry, come Sunday I will be preaching the virtues of USB 3.0 and why it is superior to Thunderbolt.. doubting it's going to make for a successful troll though.

I have a 2.3ghz 15" MBP loaded to the hilt.

It has thunderpantsportz - I still don't know what I can do with it given there is none (some?) peripheral support.

The 2011 quad core 2.3 and the GPU is worlds better - in fact more than double the Geekbench score as my 2010 2.8 MBP - so this is reason alone to upgrade, but thunderfromdownunder?

Neat I guess?

I don't know I can see the future of it. 1 port, one connection for all external devices. Hard disks, monitors, external video cards, anything you can think of. No more DVI, DVI-D, VGA, USB 1, 2, 3, SATA, eSata, Firewire 400, 800. Just one connection type. Apple licensed it for 1 year ... everyone else will jump on board in 12 short months.

Pure brilliance.

Check out this new thunderbolt tech!
