Coming to an area near you! Unmanned drones that have the camera capabilities to look inside your home and further invade your privacy without a warrant. All in the name of "Terrorism". This is bullshit.

Turbo, looks like the HPD is going to start watching you shower.

You know, if cops want to do surveillance on someone, they could simply drive by a house and (shocking) look inside their house. I wasn't aware warrants were needed for police surveillance, and in fact, I thought surveillance was often used as a precursor to getting a search warrant.

It sounds like a bit of news sensationalism, since it's the reporter who claims that while the drone was in the air, it was tracking him with a high powered camera. After all, the cops only "realized" afterward that the media had filmed the thing...

Oh, and if don't want someone looking in your house, you might want to invest in some blinds. That prevents cops, drone cameras, insects, nosy neighbors, illegal aliens, and martians from looking through your window.

LoL, indeed. Tune in tomorrow to learn more about HPD potentially crashing unmanned drones into your children. Sensationalism at it's best.

Never mind the fact that they already have a fleet of helicopters in the skies with high powered cameras, IR, spotlights and armed personnel. So what if they managed to shrink the package and make it quieter.

If it's merely used for search and rescue or tactical (as she said) then why such the big secret?

This report didn't really sound sensational at all (and I'm the first to call them out on that I freakin hate local news stations they're as bad as FOX) It didn't really have to the idea is incredible enough.

This actually doesn't seem that crazy. This is what police do.

Edit: that FAA thing pissed me off though. We should jail entire police forces for lying about restrictions / use of law; it is a complete abuse of authority.

So why aren't you shooting down the police helicopters flying over your neighborhood? They do the same things these drones are capable of.

um drones vs helicopters ...
vandalism vs 1st degree murder charges....

hmmm.

This has been popping up in the new more and more - especially related to drug trafficking. Cops around the country have been...

-Using infra-red detectors to scan houses in neighborhoods for ones that are too "hot" - they likely are growing pot, etc, in the house

-Using electric bills to see who is using "too much" electricity and then getting a search warrant.

This is complete and utter bullshit naturally.

So we have Police Helicopters, and other vehicles that are able to carry higher powered technologies and so forth as it is.

I'm betting the only reasons people are making a stink of this one is because, a small flying drone wouldn't be any more suspecting, and quieter than a helicopter, as well as the stupid manner they showcased a drone in "privacy", as well as the stupid threats they made to the reporters.

Who validates this kind of shit, because I'm pretty sure it comes out of the texas state budget that the citizens are paying with state taxes or they are getting the money from the defense budget, which we are all paying for federally.
