Ok so i was doing some research and i'm trying to make it to #1 in google for a 2 words search term(am currently #4) and i was looking for possible authority sites and i found some like:
101-magic-secrets.com
answers.com
alexa.com
aolstalker.com
digg.com
dir.yahoo.com
excite.co.uk
freemagictrick.info
google.com

and a few others...the question i'm having is: how did the webmaster for the site that's curently #1 got a link from aolstalker.com? Because there is no possible way i can get my link there and also there is no possible way i can contact someone to put a link on their page.

Well Bob, since no one else has stepped up to play "Mr Obvious," I'll do it.

A simple whois check shows both sites belong to the same guy. That's how he gets a link.

In regards to contacting someone, there's a "contact" link at the bottom of the page.

As for getting a link so you can compete with his #1 spot; good luck with that.
