I've always liked Kevin Mitnick's business cards. Giving people lockpicks will definitely leave an impression.

Where are you guys getting your cards printed? On my last batch I tried to do something semi-baller and got plastic cards from Morningprint.com, but they were so thin and flimsy it ended up coming off looking pretty cheap. Anyone have a better suggestion for high end business card printing?

Have been using moo for a year both for personal and corporate cards.
I don't care to have baller cards but their quality (printing, paper, choice, delivery) is very high.

Those are some pretty weak design examples in that article. If you're looking for high quality inspiration there are better sites dedicated to such things, like:

Plastic or metal cards are so fucking cheesy, unless of course you actually want people using your card to dice lines.

If you want quality printing done your best bet is to find a local high spec print shop to work one on one with. One that does proper CMYK or Pantone spot colour offset printing, that can do laminates, spot gloss, letterpress effects, embossing/debossing, thermography, foils, etc. on the highest quality stock. If you want a quality final product, do not have your cards digitally printed. They look cheap.

I've heard some good things about these guys and they offer a wide range of special effects... Business Cards | Business Card Printing | Custom Business Cards | Cotton Cards | Silk Cards | Suede Cards | Plastic Cards

It's not cheap to produce high quality cards though. Be prepared to spend a few hundred bucks.

Have a set of business cards made out of wood.

Love the reaction I get from people when handing them over. Since we are in the wood business it works really well.
