Currently in airport waiting to go to Bangkok for 2 weeks. Since a lot of you guys seem to be living there (or talking about going) thought I might see if anyone fancied a beer.

Cant promise any amazing marketing secrets but would be cool to meet some real IM people (folk in my hometown can just about understand the internet). Im an SEO guy but you PPC nerds are welcome too :)

Admit it. You want to lure a "PPC nerd" to have a drink where you'll drug him then try and steal his $100 a campaigns and rape him (he'll be okay with this).

Ain't LukeP out there just now? Maybe you can go work on his farm?

Bangkok is nice , but i think you going at a bad time. i heard new protest is in the next 2-3 days

Head down to Sukhumvit Soi 4 and walk about 100meters downa nd on the right hand side is a place called Bar 4...go in an ask for Mark and have a beer with him. He owns the bar...good guy...and great stories.

Plus he can take you around Nana and into/out of the bars as he knows everyone.

If I was you I'd leave Bangkok, I personally don't see the appeal of the place - especially for extended visits. It's no cheaper living there than any other major city and there are major infrastructure problems.

If you want a largish city that's MUCH cheaper and has a friendlier vibe for locals then head north to Chiang Mai - if you're a bit of a hippy you can head even further north and into the hills and check out Pai.

Or go further south and enjoy island life (Koh Samu, the biggest and most commercial of the lot), (Koh Phangan - really depends where you go - one side of the island has a lot of yoga retreats and the other side has the full moon party), (Koh Tao - another hippy place with some of the cheapest diving in the world), (Koh Phi Phi - party island for the younger crowd with some excellent diving - a lot more expensive than Koh Tao) (Koh Samet/Koh Chang closest to bangkok - quite shit).

Also there are always protests in Bangkok, don't even worry about it. Just avoid the areas where protests are being held and avoid talking politics.

You think you are looking foward to bangkok, wait til the the ladyboy's look foward to meeting you.

Make sure you walk straight after the meeting.

I spent 2 months and hit up Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan.

Chiang mai for cheap living

Bangkok for city living

Koh Samui for island city living.

Koh Tao for diving and smoking lots of weed

Koh Phangan for full moon party and thats it

Phuket for city living on the beach(beats koh samui city wise but more expensive)

I'm with tencentpiece regarding Chiang Mai. I guess it depends on what you're looking for though, but for a nice place to be comfortable in all aspects, Chiang Mai is it. It's just a really nice city, but at the same time, has basically everything you could want in terms of Western luxury.
