The Associated Press: California MMA fighter faces trial in grim slaying

Authorities who went to a home near the mouth of the Klamath River on March 21, 2010, found Powell dead on the couch with his chest cut open and his heart, tongue and the skin of his face removed, according to court records.


Wyatt — naked and covered in blood — acknowledged that he had killed Powell and cut out his heart and tongue, authorities said.
An autopsy revealed that the organs had been removed while Powell was still alive. His heart was found charred in a wood-burning stove at the home.


According to witnesses, the two had ingested hallucinogenic mushrooms and believed they were part of a struggle between God and the devil.

Last time I smoked weed, I felt like I was about to do something very bad. Ain't touched shit in months since and I don't plan on doing so.
 
I been tripped shrooms and LSD more times than I can count, to every degree of intensity, from slight visuals to complete distortion of reality to exiting reality. And I can tell you this, there had to be something fundamentally wrong with that dude to have done that. Psychedelics filter, enchance, and distort your perception and thoughts, but they are still yours.

The last time I dropped acid I had a very bad trip.

Two buddies and I dropped around 5pm and decided to head to a park just outside of town. By the time we got there it started to kick in. We fucked around for a bit trying to trip each other out by claiming we were seeing things. Before we knew it it was almost 10pm and we were in the car freaking the fuck out. I had put it in my buddies head that I saw the devil and he was in the trees above us. Next thing I know there are KKK members in white sheets running around in the field in front of us. We started up the car and drove home in silence.

When we got back to the house and turned on all the lights we figured we were safe and started to laugh about it.

For me it was what we called 10 strips, we would buy a sheet and perf it into 100 tabs. Felix the cat and jesus christ super star were the 2 most common in my area.
 
Consuming psilocybin or LSD at least one time should be a requirement for every human being on the planet.

Edit: Okay except make them trip by themselves I guess, so shitty mother fuckers like the guy in OP's story will hopefully kill themselves instead of someone else.

I've been in some crazy shapes before with LSD and shrooms but even then, i'd never lose it to the point of doing something as crazy as that.

Also, maybe its just DeJa Vu, but i'm pretty sure this news story is a few years old now, pretty sure it was posted a while back.

Edit: Sorry, just realised its the trial thats coming up. It happened in 2010.
