I tried starting a PPC campaign for 2 adult companies. One is an adult dating service, which was denied at overture/yahoo. They wanted a username/password to login, to check it out, they said they belived the website had to do with prostitution and illegal activities. Which isn't true. Ofcourse my merchant won't give me that information.

Another company selling adult DVD's was denied from yahoo. They said there has to be a disclaimer stating all models on the website are 18+. This isn't a porn site, it's a site selling DVD's, there isn't any nude content on the website itself.

Is this just yahoo? what's the problem? how is everybody else advertising adult sites?

If you want to get into the adult promotions do a search for adult related stuff, PPC is definitely not the way to go about it, start an adult oriented blog and join a few adult website program affiliate programs the payouts per sign up are really really high, then trade links with other adult bloggers so you can get some traffic, put your new posts up on the popular adult link dump sites, wash rinse repeat.

A very competitive market but there is always room for another person promothing the programs... remember thousands of young guys get their first check card/credit card every day, that is one of the first thing they buy... pron.

If you have questions join the gfy forum it is the best place to find info on starting this type of thing, read first then ask questions, it kinda reminds me of this place in terms of personality...

so UTFS ( use the fucking search ) before asking too many questions on getting started there.

Good Luck

PPC is an idiotic way to promote adult. Think about it. Would you rather see a text ad or a hot girl? You need to be buying banner advertisements.

PPC is possible with adult. BUT never send them direct to merchant. Make up a nice g-rated landing site no one will ever reject your campaigns or ask for passwords or any of that bullshit.

Plus with adult, you have to make one click turn into 3 or 4 with your merchants or it's tough to be profitable.

Yahoo has Yahoo personals, and this could be way they don't allow you to advertise adult dating.

As for the DVDs, all adult websites have to be 2257 compliant!

Again, GFY would be a good resource for learning more about 2257.

Do you know of any sites where I can advertise banners? Only one I know is Adbrite, but I don't know how effective it is advertising with them.
