Best Geolocation service?

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Geolocation services on the web, if they could recommend any to me?

I'm trying to track down where a user's IP address originates from, then to serve localised adverts for girls/guys in their area.

The site is a social networking site

I use http://software77.net/cgi-bin/ip-country/geo-ip.pl with much success. It's free, and seems to work well.

no problem
I just implemented myself a few days ago, works pretty well
I used the goip.dat file, but the database is faster. I'd rather do the apache module, but haven't figured out how to install it on a shared server
