I have a nice chunk of money earmarked for a future business. I'm pretty busy with other projects right now, so I'd like to throw that money in a High yield savings account or money market account until I'm ready. I need to be able to get to my money on 72 hours notice without penalty so CDs and other "safe" investments are out.

Can anyone here recommend a good high yield savings or money market account. Or any other interest bearing account that allows me to get at my money on short notice and is safe (relatively speaking).

I would go to a local credit union... These rates are simply shit right... you're looking at somewhere around 1%... The other option would be to go with the guy with the highest introductory rate for the longest period of time. Your current bank may have a decent offer...

I'm not expecting to get rich just earn a few bucks off interest before I spend it. Beats the hell out of holding it in a checking account.

"High yield" today is considered around 1% for a savings or money market account. There really aren't many safe options for you if you need the $$ in a 72hr time frame.

I'd just park it at your local bank since you need instant access to it.
