I have been hacked several times in the last couple months and am thinking of changing hosts to something more secure and a little more helpful in dealing with hacks.

Any recommendations for a VPS that is good with keeping your websites secure and if one of your websites is compromised, they do a good job of helping you fix it?

Thanks.

Depends a lot on why you're getting hacked.
Are you just running shit like wordpress installs? Or are you on shared hosting where the box itself is getting rooted? Or what?

"Hacked" is a broad term and the specifics mean there are different solutions.

I am not sure exactly why I am getting hacked, my host hasn't really said why. They said it's usually due to out of date Wordpress and themes but they are all updated and it's still happening.

They haven't been very helpful, their answer is just remove the website completely but I can't do that. I want to get setup with someone who specializes in security and maybe provides a little more helpful information than yea your hacked and if you don't remove it now we will shut you down.

Ok. Are all of your sites getting hacked? Or is it happening one at a time?
Also - what is happening when you're hacked? Are they adding files to the server? Hosting their sites on it? Or just adding things to your wordpress install?

I'm sure there are 3rd party security packs for WordPress...if this is going the way I think it is you may want to give one a try.

It's been mixed, sometimes just one site will be hacked, other times all of the websites on that Cpanel account are hacked.

They are usually adding js loaders and other stuff to my site in order to phish for personal information or use my server to send out spammy emails.

TVC.Net is only host I'm aware of who are experts in security.
They run fee daily malware scans on all their accounts as well (so you are not caught flat footed with a Google malware "red star" pegged to your shirt).

Best thing I can think of at this point is get yourself a VPS, don't install CPanel, setup authentication that requires keys, then lock down the permissions on the filesystem: IE the apache server can only modify files it actually needs to modify, which doesn't include the Wordpress template files or anything like that.
It sounds like the attack vector here was cPanel(70% chance) or Wordpress(30% chance).

Arvixe.com , tbh i had one of my offtopic forums running on arvixe and once it was hacked , their live chat did all that they can to get my forum up...

If you've got the money: WPEngine.

A VPS won't prevent you from getting hacked, unless you install the minimum amount of softwaren, regularly update it and keep good security practices. But I'm thinking of unmanaged VPSs and a managed one might be different as you pay them to do all those things.
