It boggles my mind how slavery still makes it into these discussions. How you can rationalize that something 200 years ago somehow plays a part in the day-to-day dealings of a school girl today is completely beyond me... but behind the semi-anonymity of the internet I see this card gets pulled a lot.

If this shit doesn't stop then I'm going to have to whip out the ball and chain on these colored motherfuckers again.

I hate internet loudmouths. Look tool. If Independence Day waaaaaaaaaay back in 1776 still has an effect on America being Independent from Great Britain, then why shouldn't all the rest of what happened here still have an effect on everyday life here?

Does what happened in 1776 still have a bearing on today? YES

Does the fact the oppressed people who were MURDERED for learning to read/write(or for walking down the street, or for breathing, or for being born) and refused HUMAN DIGNITY still effect what goes on today? YES

Your mind probably isn't intelligent enough to grasp such concepts.

Study, read books, look outside of your own selfish bubble for once. (look up Tim Wise on youtube if you don't like to read...)

P.S. I wish some clown would say what you said on this forum to my face, but in 32 years of life I've only heard derogatory statements from "typing toughies" over the internet or in real life from moving vehicles. LOL, cowards.

Despite what you might think, I du reed alut of buks from time to time.

What I have learned on this topic was surprising when I first heard it. Around 25% of free black slave masters owned 10 or more slaves, which is a much higher percentage than white slave owners. Slave owners as a whole were a small minority (about 1% of the population) and it was not only whites.

You can acertain from this that just about anybody who could own slaves did, including blacks themselves.

I know a couple guys on here have encountered racism and reverse racism on here before, I've seen a few threads on it from time to time. It's sad.

The only way to get over the slavery issue is treat it for what it is: a thing of the past. Which, a lot of people (like you, as do-gooding as you might consider yourself) and including morons on Yahoo Answers seem to have trouble with:
