I just started videogamereign.com a few days ago. I know it looks like shit and has basically no content - it's new.

What do you think the best way to monetize this site would be?

Netflix and blockbuster ads. As well as gamefly.

Pretty much this.

I hope you're not expecting to make any money any time soon. I started my own gaming site back in November and haven't made a dime - 359 unique articles later. Really, this niche is a huge bitch and the only reason I haven't sold my site yet is because it's really fun to run.

If you ever get any traffic going, you might want to try direct ad sales with OIOPublisher. I was kinda hoping my site would be doing that by now, but I got threatened with a lawsuit a little over a month ago and had to change domain names, so search traffic pretty much disappeared.

Yeah, but that is a tough conversion... Do you think I would make more off a simple CPA offer?

Hello friend,

Maybe put offer where it say enter email to get free system of video game but you no really get free.

You get $1 to $1.50 for every email enter. You have watch scrub and be careful when run those offer. Sometime get good money in begin and later no money at all.

Good luck bro

Do you mean it is hard to market to the video game crowd, or just that its hard to get search rankings...? I know it is a saturated niche, so SEO will be hard...

CJ has tons of game vendors..gaming products etc...they are all commission based though

Rankings. How do you expect to compete with big sites like Kotaku? The only search traffic you're going to get are extremely long-tail phrases. Most of the search traffic I have coming in to my site are coming in from phrases 3-4+ keywords long.

Also, yes, marketing to the gamer crowd is difficult. What sets your site apart from the thousands of others? Remember that anybody can go on Youtube and pull up a review for nearly and game released between 1980 and now. The same applies to gaming articles. You have to have some sort of a spin. My site, for example, is entirely community driven, so I try to play up the fact that we're not "letting the advertisers influence our opinions", ie you're getting straight talk from real gamers.

I hate to be a prick, but if your site is nothing but game reviews, you're not going to get any traffic for years.

You're not being a prick... I sorta expected it to be challenging. I chose video games because I can easily write about them, so I wouldn't have to outsource and/or bore myself. I may just sell the site once it is built fully... But I hate to put work into something just to see it change hands.

This is my first site BTW... I know it's not gonna make me much. I can make $1-2k per month writing, so this is more of a hobby than a source of cash, but I would of course like some more money :D
