Best Place in Northeast US to Travel

My friends and I are going to rent a house and take like a 5 day vacation somewhere around where we live. I live in Buffalo NY and don't really want to drive more than 8 hours. Initially I'm thinking Myrtle Beach in SC.

If anybody has any "hidden gem" spots to go or any really nice trips they've taken in the northeast that's relatively cheap (my friends are broke) but a really nice place. Maybe a place with kickass cliff jumping or something fun I don't know.

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.
 


How about Cooperstown, NY, home of the Baseball Hall of Fame, or Saratoga Springs? You could drive over the border and visit Niagara Falls, Canada. The Canadian side of the falls is supposed to be nicer.

I would check out Michigan lake homes, Northern Quebec, Newport RI, or the Maine coast. You should be able to find something reasonably cheap.
 
How about the obvious for a bunch of Bufflao, NY guys --------- NYC.
You go down to NYC, party a bit during the week and then head out to the hamptons for the weekend. You guys will have a great time. If you need any hot spots to hit just send me a PM.
 
Toronto is nice for urban style fun if you're wanting to drive. But why not just fly and go... pretty much anywhere you want?
 
From Boston to Portsmouth NH. Portsmouth is about an hour north of Boston, but on the Ocean. If you just want to get trashed with a bunch of random (mostly, Mass people, and Dominicans... etc.) goto Hampton Beach, NH and get trashed 24/7.

Ocean town of 1,000 that turns into 100,000 during the Summer.

I know Boston is like.... shit, 6 hours from Niagra?

As someone who lives in a 10 mile radius of those places, I can confirm. For a nice private beach check out Newcastle, NH, an island right next to Portsmouth.
