Wife and I went for a ride around town tonight and decided to stop into Anthony's Steakhouse for dinner since we've heard good things about it.

I had the prime rib, medium rare - like I order at every steak place I go. It was pretty decent. Nothing to write home about. Probably on par with the Texas Roadhouse and Outback (although those places will both give you a pretty fatty cut of beef).

It did make me think back to last year in March when the wife and I went to the Ruth's Chris in Manhattan. That was the best damn prime rib I've ever had, and I've had a lot. I also ate some of my wife's sirloin and that was the best damn sirloin I've ever had.

Ever since Ruth's Chris, every steak I've had has been weighed against their steaks, and every steak has come short.

Where's the best place you've ever had a steak?

Palm - Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego. Shit was delicious! I Wanted to fuck their scalloped potatoes also.

Maybe I just got unlucky, but Ruth's Chris was one of the worst steaks I've ever had and the fucking thing was like $75. Most overrated meal I've ever had.

The best steak I've had is any that I've cooked myself.

Fillet Mignon 20oz at Uncle Jacks in Manhattan. Best steak I've ever had but the side dishes were a disappointment.

Probably from Prime Quarter (a place that has huge charcoal grills and you grill it yourself).

Ruth's Chris is top of the line.. they actually smother/sear the steak in butter, one of their secrets.

Beyond that, best steak ever was, hands down, Michael Jordan's Steakhouse (Mohegan Sun). They had a Kansas aged-steak, I think it was aged like 30-45 days or something, was the best damn cut of meat I've ever tasted. Melted in my mouth, I left the place realizing I've never had better.

Prime rib fans.. make sure you try your meat with the whipped horse-radish sauce and au jus mixed together, try it if you haven't, will bring your taste buds to a whole new level/experience.

lol sampunk - w/ cheese?

lol the best beef i ever had is in HK, a slice of raw Kobe beef. I don't know if it categorize as steak by you guys cause it just feels like a slice of butter. it just dissolved in my mouth!
