It depends on how you want your site to look like. You can either hire a coder/designer to do it for you or you can buy a premium theme and then customize it yourself.

Themeforest themes have nice designs but the all are loaded with useless features (they want to do a plugin works), some of them are so badly coded that they are full vulnerable and so slow in speed & 100s of db queries (bad for seo) & users. I always stay out of it. I better customize simple themes like Twenty Eleven.

I think its better to just get a designer and customize a template for you, then you can use it for a bunch of your sites
