I haven't seen much information on bidding strategies.

When you start a new campaign how do you determine how high to set your bids? When to delete keywords? Do you delete keywords if you reached your payout or do you test on a pre-determined conversion rate? or # of clicks? What about ad position? Do you only test keywords if they are in a specific position?

Let's say your payout is $30 a lead on a campaign how would you set your bids and test your keywords to get a profitable campaign? How much money would you set aside on this campaign just for testing?

Any additional advise on bidding strategies would be appreciated.

Thanks

This goes back to ask a better question and get a better answer.

What traffic source? What niche? How are you finding the offer? Were you given any numbers on the offer and how it converts for this traffic source or other traffic sources? If not why not? Your AM should be able to give you this info, if not they're not doing their job.

traffic source is PPC - google and yahoo. offers is from an aff network. based on my own testing so far this offer is converting at 5% with direct linking. I had a landing page created to get more conversions so this is the reason I made this post.

Thanks

Have you used the Google keyword tool to simulate ad positions at certain bids? It will tell you the estimated ad position, and if you're a beginner, Adwords has a budget optimizer that automatically adjusts your bids to get the most clicks for your budget. Try that.
