There used to be this free tool called PPC Defender which would prevent spy tools like KeywordSpy from gathering data from your Google Ads. Problem is that is only blocked hit from Adwords. If a bot spied on you via MSN or Yahoo, they could still get the data.

So does any one know of another tool in which to do this? Any PHP scripts for sale maybe?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure those tools are scrapping the SEs for your placements, not your site, so any "protection" tools would likely be a scam.

I don't know if it's entirely possible to block altogether.

One thing I will say is that Compete.com compiles data from it's toolbar / firefox plugin usage (compete plugin comes with search status, a very popular firefox plugin for internet marketers).

This means that if you have compete installed on firefox, do a search, click on an ad, compete will register the keyword and landing page / domain. No big deal, right? It's great for competitive analysis... But if you're researching / testing your own ad / landing page, that shit is recorded and available to the public, so use with caution.

PPC defender was cool because it required that the source originate from an Adwords click (real click). this prevented the bots from spidering behind the scenes. It just would limit all traffic to Adwords, making any MSN/Yahoo campaigns useless. I need something that supports all 3.

this also prevents your LP from being indexed in google, which, afaik, fucks your quality score. good luck to you though.

KeywordSpy doesn't do shit with your landing page, other than grabbing the URL from Google, from what I can tell. Either that, or I'm blind to where I can get landing page data from my login.
