*******SPOILER ALERT**********

Man what huge fucking let down ending of season two was, wtf was the logic behind killing Darmity. It feels like this was the ending of the show. Fuck this shit

Yeah I was a little disappointed in this season. Overall, it's still a good show, but I am also a little confused about where the show is heading. It seemed like Jimmy was becoming a much bigger character and I guess maybe he was becoming too big (both in the show and in the story), as Nucky is really the main character. That being said, we saw a different side to Nucky in the last few episodes. He went from being a scared little man, to back in control and being a lying POS. Nucky is becoming the villain of the show IMO.

Also,
Margaret needs to show tits or GTFO.
Now that Jimmy is done, who will his mom bang out for power?
Half-face guy is gonna go HAM next season.
We need a new set of lesbos now that Jimmy's wife is gone.

He was never a scared little man. It was an illusion setup to throw jimmy and everyone else off guard. While he pretended to be a scared little man jimmy ran around killing everyone just as nucky knew he would. When the work he needed was done he killed him.

I wasn't surprised at all after seeing the way Nucky handled his brother who came for forgiveness. I figured either Nucky or Darmity would die and since Nucky alone is on the show's intro I figured he's the one staying.

Good shows actually get rid of important/strong characters now and then. Nothing pisses me off more than being jerked around by dumbass writers who hint that someone needs to die in a conflict but never actually do it - so that all of their main characters can stay in the show.

The biggest example of this shit is Sons of Anarchy right now. That show has basically turned into a pile of shit because they wont resolve the thing between Jax and Clay even though it's come close to being resolved tons of times. They just fucking string you along with the same conflict time and time again. Even though I like Ron Perlman, he's got to fucking go. But no.. the show is afraid of losing a popular actor, etc.

It isn't just that he's in the intro. The whole show is based on his life. They took a creative license with the real history, but it's Nuckys show.

I was wondering if the show was based on real events and characters (besides the obvious ones like Capone) but never bothered looking into it.. thanks.

What Nucky needs to do to Margaret when he finds out what she did with the land deed at the end.....

Yeah it's the Nucky Show, not the Darmity show. Still quite a few interesting characters and I'm sure they'll bring in some new ones next season.

Shit you got Omar, the Jew Butcher guy, half-face and basically all of the out of town gangsters, left; it be hard not to get a few more good episodes out of that.

Going to a meet nucky alone is unbelievable.
Not having Richard the sniper in the woods to cover Darmity's back is unbelievable.

How can you expect Darmity and Nucky to be best friends after what Darmity did? Plus, you could tell he knew he was gonna die when he said he's gotta do it alone to Harrow.

Margaret is a cuntbag. I hope top boys from Church in Vatican come (10m = 130m or so it todays money) and Nucky goes up against them.

More Harrow and Al Capone ftw. And yeah, like aaronklaw said, hopefully they explore the Heroin trade a bit more.

I was pissed - Margaret needs to go. I was praying that Nooki would have Darmity take her out after he asked what he could do to make things "right as they can be". They even fooled you with the scene right after that where the camera was sneaking up on her, but then it was just Nooki. It was pretty obvious that James was going to get it after that. Going to miss him, he had a unique personality.

Harrow is the fucking shit and I can't wait to see what he does.

I'd imagine there has to be more Capone coming up?

Anyways, to the lost. Cheers.

That's what happens when you go bipolar, kill off your allies and try to suck your enemy's cock. Jimmy was a fuck up. shouldn't have ordered the hit on Manny, should've blown nucky and the mick's heads off.

I thought they'd play out the heroin angle some more... make him a sketchy junkie, thought that there would be an uneasy truce between Nuck and Jimmy, maybe he'd eventually choke out his mother, thought lots of things... didn't see this coming this soon.

I'm uneasy about the whole giving up and showing up unarmed part of it, that just doesn't sit well at all. He had power however fleeting, he had his backers who were supporting him and urging him to keep going, he had his foot soldiers, and could have made a go of it. Hell, it were partially his actions, the "suicide", that got Nucky off.

There are some great writeups about the season finale...

Terence Winter Looks Back on the Mother of All 'Boardwalk Empire' Seasons - NYTimes.com

There's a NYT one I read but I can't find it now despite my searching my history and G. Basically said this is the way it had to be. You live by the gun you die by the gun. You can't fail in trying to kill a gangster and not expect them to kill you instead.

So in season 3 it looks like their will be more emphasis on Capone and Chicago. The show needs an enemy for Nucky. I'm sure they will put him against a younger gangster.

My three favorite secondary characters are Rothstein, Horvitz, and Harrow. Each one has a unique personality or story behind them.

Easily my favorite show in a long, long time.

This. Rothstein by far is my favorite character. There's no mention of Darmody in history, so it makes sense not to make him a lead character for more than a couple seasons.

We'll definitely see the rise of Capone, Luciano and Meyer Lansky. These are the guys that ripped shit up history-wise, and there's plenty more bootfucking these guys will do.
