I'm a series junkies. I love books that go on and on and on and on...

I have about 40 series I'm involved in currently and now that I got my kindle I plan on doubling that shortly.

Problem is, I have no good way to know when a new book in the series comes out, without remembering to go looking for it (and i have so many series i'm involved in, I honestly forget about them until I happen to see a new one) There's got to be a site out there that allows you to subscribe with your series and will notify you when a new one is out. And if there's not there should be (hint hint).

You would think Amazon would jump on something like this, but for some reason, they haven't. Not that I can find anyways.

Do you guys know of something like this?

Couldn't you sign up to each authors site - not ideal I know but I presume they are smart enough to email subscribers when the next instalment comes out.

I like UG's idea - there is probably a nice little business to be had directing subscribers to amazon when the book launches. Although if Amazon did it themselves it would be game over

You should build it out with amazon links and build a newsletter for likeminded chicks (I'm assuming this would be mainly chicks, but whatever). Make blog posts about said series, and encourage discussion. Maybe just set-up a forum or something.

This, it's a great idea.

If neither of you are going to build one I'll add it to my stack of sites to build and do it myself.

It really is a great idea for a site. I would have to outsource something like this and don't feel like taking on that kind of headache at the moment so go for it. You could monetize this in your sleep.

Let me know when you get it up- I'll sub, I'm a series freak myself. I never even look at titles anymore much, I usually select and read by Authors.

My girlfriend says amazon always tells her when books are coming out. She said that it probably does it because she has rated all of the books in the series. So the notification must be tied to your order history and level interest in a series.

She also said she is not aware of another service/site that does notifications. I use her as a credible source since she is getting her masters in library science.

Side note: You may want to check out GoodReads.com its not for notifications but its a huge book lover site.
