Building a website for Freebies need advice on link structure

Hey Guys, I'm realtively new to online marketing and my first project is a website similat to one I mention below and I need to understand why it is done this way.

If some one could help me shed light on it...

If you visit this website: [ grabanything4free . com ] and you move mouse over links they look like [ www . grabanything4free . com / go / product_name ]
But when you click they actually take you to outside pages. If this done for Google? Any ideas why links look like inside links but are not?

That is just link cloaking. It hides the fact that it is an affiliate link, can be run through a click tracker, and you can change all links on the site for a given promo in one place.
