I thought the fat guy was black and then he revealed himself when he said the word "latino." Why do 100% americanized spanish folk without a hint of an accent feel the need to slap on a sudden accent when they speak a word like "latino".

actually you can be black and latino, although common lexicon doesn't regard brazaillians as latino, tehy actually are and brazil has a lot of people who you would describe as black, but brazil is such a meltin pot, that everyone is mixed, there is no purebreed white or black.
In america, If you half black half white, you're still regarded as black, maybe even if you're 1/4 black you will still be regarded as black
But "black" isn't really used in brazil much.
Secondly there are lots of hispanics who are black, cuba comes to mind, and also peurto rico has a lot of black people.
Latin = culture, black = race, you can be both.
Last no matter how well your accents are if you're bilingual and fluent in both languages and where there are common words in both languages (latino, burrito, enchalda etc), the accent of your mother tongue or most practiced language will take precendence.
Chances are the guy probably speaks a lot of spanish and uses the word "latino" more often than in English, so you can't really have two accents for the same word, it's difficult for the mind to natually do that, unless you fight it and make a conscious effort to adopt two accents for the same word.
How is this racist? He is talking about helping blacks and inner city people. Hell he even said he is against federal death penalty which is basically designed for the modern negro. Or is it racist because he was talking about the coloreds? Are white people just not allowed to talk about them? He was being baited by a spicano and answered appropreatly. I just dont see that as racist. If he were racist he woulda said something like.
