Buying a dell LCD

The specs on that one are pretty decent. I'd say it's a pretty good buy for $200.

i should have gotten a dell instead of this acer (24"). major backlight bleed from the top, bottom and sides. i prefer my screen edges black when I'm watching a movie, not gray. don't get any bleed from my dell 19".

Those acers are cheap for a reason. Craftsmanship for the most part. They work just fine, but not as good as others. And for the price I wouldn't be surprised. You get what you pay for.

Im a huge fan of my Samsung 226BW 22" Monitor. I'm definitely considering getting a 2nd one to use instead of my laptop monitor as my 2nd monitor. Then I'd get a wireless keyboard and just leave my laptop closed on the docking station.

I'm on a 19" LG now, and for the price it is excellent. I think it ran me $130 or so at BestBuy.

But I do get the grey "widescreen bars" when watching movies.

I ordered the Acer 22" on Friday, we'll see how that goes.

I have the Dell 2407, which was replaced by the 2408. It is the nicest monitor I've used. Better than the pro Viewsonic VP line of which I have a 21" and 2 17"s. Also better than the top of the line HPs. Both have terrible colour shift as you move from left to right and aren't nearly as bright or crisp. The Dells rate just as high as Apple Cinema displays, and I like how they physically look much better as well.

Spend the extra money on the ultrasharp. They're awesome for watching HD content.

They are supposed to be used with DVI cables though right? I don't have a DVI port so does it defeat the purpose if I use a VGA cable?
