Ok, so I'm looking into buying some ad space on some pretty well-visited sites.

I emailed the advertising department directly with a very good outline of WHAT I WANT, and pretty much just trying to test the waters on WHAT THEY WANT.

They have a huge area to the right of their main content on every page (this is a pretty large site) that has absolutely NOTHING, just void space, site wide.

I tell them the area I am interested in, and I get this reply;
I am sorry; we do not offer banner advertising. Our program is a bit more involved - for most clients, we actually give them a personalized, text-based page promoting their products on our site.

Over the last year, they are receiving about 1.6 - 1.9 million page views per month.

She left me her number in the email, but I'm considering how to approach the whole situation since she's pretty much nixed my idea of banner space. I don't like the fuckin idea of having a personalize text-based page to promote my shit. That means end users must first find this page, click to it, read about product, then click through it again, then fulfill the advertiser's requirements. Whereas, having the banner space, well... I don't have to explain why this is so much easier (and lucrative)

Any suggestions on approaching this?

It's not worth wasting your time. I've spent too much time haggling with webmasters/site owners only to come up empty handed. If I were you I would move on and try and find another site to buy banner ads on.

If you're advertising something interesting, contact me. I have a 125x125 slot open. I'll throw it onto a crappy little site I have for free.

GlowLeaf,
I've bookmarked that thread and am utilizing it with my current structure.

I just wish I could convince these fuckers into a sitewide banner.
