In the free domaining section I've seen someone advertise domains with PR. I guess I'm investigating the best way to boost a site I have.

Is it worth it to grab an expired domain with a bad name if you 301 it to a site you want to promote? Is that an effective way to help boost an existing site? Is there any downside? Is it better to put up a relevant page and just link out to the site you want to promote?

How do you best utilize the existing PR to help out another site?
