Can anybody explain the semantics behind "Bulletproof" web servers?

Just curious how they might work.

What I imagine: Obtain an IP address directly from the issuing authority and direct the "abuse" email to :fail:, am I right?

I just don't get it... if bulletproof hosts can stay online for years at a time and charge 10X what regular hosts do... why isn't every hosting provider in this game?

Only corrupt countries are applicable. That's mostly why you see the sad sorry state of affairs that is in bp hosting.
