Can I get a site review?

Good look but i'd like to point to you to one of the internal page on your website.
The "uesful link" section on the right side bar is way down. It should be in parallel with the content on the left/main page.

FYI - I'm from old age using IE v6 still.

Either you fix that or i'll update to IE V8.

Can you take a screenshot of it? In Chrome and FF for me it's aligned at the top with the content on the left, I'm on Windows 7 and don't have IE6 to test with.

Nor does anyone else. Don't waste your time developing/fixing shit for IE6.

Was just going to throw in a "if HTTP_USER_AGENT =" script, but yeah, guess that's a pretty small demo to bother for.

Any other suggestions?

Its a super clean site. What needs work is your call to action. I understand what the site is promoting, but you have to think about your average joe.

I was thinking since it's sort of a need-based niche, they'll only be there if they're already looking for it, I don't have to convince them as hard that they want it. Was trying to go the "we understand your frustration/depression/how important you think your stuff is, and we can help" angle instead of the "BUY MY SHIIIIIIT" one. No go?

First thing that draws me eye is that windows logo in the bottom right panel. Straight away I am thinking "wait this is recovery for windows, not mac!" if you're going to copyright infringe and use the windows logo, atleast use the mac logo as well somewhere bigger so the user knows it's for macs but you offer a window service also.

Your product is "DataRecoveryForMac - Macintosh Data Recovery Solutions" and you want to optimize for IE6? Lol.

Nice site by the way, I like the design a lot and it's very clean. One thing: I'd place a big button in the top right of every page that says "Download" or so. You don't have any CTA whatsoever anywhere on the site unless I'm missing something.

Good point. Added the Apple logo to the "Pro Data Recovery" window in the middle and in the process of working on the logo to get it that extra "yes, this is for Macs" feel without double-violating copyright...

Only because there's also a Windows version that will also hit certain keywords.

Alright, will do.

Thanks guys.

I really like the look of the site, the only criticism i've got is the Dell with the Apple logo on... Could just be me, but it's clearly a cheap piece of Dell tat, might rub Apple fanbois up the wrong way? I am a Mac user and it doesn't bother me, but might bother those deeper within the cult.

Haha... I was worried about this too so sent it to a couple Mac-using friends, they didn't notice until I pointed it out. Hopefully other people won't either, that level of Photoshop is a little over my head.

Okay, I added a download button to the header of each page, changed the logo to an apple for more Mac-relevance and added the mac logo to the place on the front page where it seemed to be lacking next to the Windows one.

Good now?

Apart from the mac not being a mac and the red line through the 179 that looks like ms paint it looks awesome.

You still need a clear path to resolve their issue. It doesn't have to be flashing and neon, but the site should have an easy flow to it to funnel your users to buy.

I think it's a good improvement overall. I'd like to suggest that you revise the idea of having a big fat price in the header though, even though it's stricken through... "Free trial" doesn't really negate the weight of "$179 for a data recovery app that I hope I'll never ever have to use".

I get that you're trying to leverage the price decrease "$179-down-to-free", but "free trial" isn't really free... And people know that. The current design somehow communicates the exact opposite of what you're trying to say.

Don't brag with the term "free trial". A trial is a trial and the word implies "this is time limited and you'll be required to pay up sooner or later". Maybe take out the price from the header and instead, have a little arrow pointing to the button, where the price is now, with a small text saying "Try for Free".

Just a suggestion. Also, b_sun's advice is on the spot.
