Can't overwrite/modify/delete files on my server anymore

Getting some weird errors whenever I try to do anything, for example -

550 Could not delete news.html: Permission denied

550 Could not change perms on [filename]: Operation not permitted

553 Can't open that file: Permission denied
: /public_html/app/tb4/news.html

I already submitted a ticket to my host but just thought I'd post here as well to see if anyone knew. It says I don't have any permissions, and I can't change the permissions either. It's a dedicated server and I'm the sole owner. Never had this issue before.

Have you tried rebooting the server and trying again?

Make sure the Owner/Group setting (not chmod) on your files is set to admin access.

that is your problem your hosting company can fix this for you.

^ That was the problem. Somehow I must have changed them so that only user "root" could change them and disabled admin access from my actual account. They fixed it, but now when I visit the actual sites in Firefox, I get 403 errors every time. Emailed them back to see what's going on with this.
