Captain Phillips - Excellent Movie

Are you a Tom Hanks fan, or is the movie good despite the fact that he's in it?

Couldn't care less about Tom Hanks, although his performance in this movie was one of the best in his career. The last 10 minutes alone should give him an Oscar, if you ask me.

My favorite performance wasn't even Tom Hanks. But I won't spoil anything.

interesting that the current nigerian hijack is in the news just after this film was released. no, i'm not going full lukep, just found the coincidence interesting as to whether it'd bear more pressure on the nigerian situation, aka how dumb could you be to hijack shit after a blueprint was just published in a major film that says the solution is to blow your fucking head off.

Yeah, I'm sure these Nigerian pirates have an imax theater down the street airing this movie.

It was great. Exponentially better than Bullock's screaming match with the moon.

Captain P was an amazing movie, from start to finish, it was well made, well written, well directed, Paul Greengrass needs to make another Bourne movie, last one sucked, Jeremy Renner is no bourne.

Im gona have to check it out. Previews looked great but I have heard some hate against it because of unrealistic events.

Well it was "Americanized" so no surprise sheeple liked it. I suggest you check out the non-Americanized version.

Watched hijacking a few weeks ago.. was a great film.

Is Captain Phillips the same story, just blockbuster version, or something different? Was looking forward to watching it as i thought it was a completely different film.

I actually watched Captain Phillips first, then watched A Hijacking.

I'm into action movies, so frankly, I liked both. It just depends on what you're into.

Captain Phillips = More civilized, Americanized (American accent, subtitled Somali)

Barbaric, crude, but more realistic (no subtitled Somali).

I'd watch both :D

Watched it today. Didn't like it, the thing was too drawn out and the last half was full of repetitive scenes. Bottom line, first half was interesting last half boring

If you're going for it, go with a hot chic. There was this moment in the movie where the US marine says "execute".. Basically, a great night in bed!

Why couldn't they just pay some mercenaries to ride along and handle shit like that before it gets started? It would be cheaper than paying millions in ransom.
