Ok. Don't know why I feel the urge to post this other than the fact that yesterday(the rebirth of Cedar Fest) at MSU was insane.

Cedar Fest is just a massive party held in/around a large set of apartment buildings called Cedar Village.
Even before the crowd got rowdy, cops in full riot gear...thousands of people...by the end 6-7 rounds of teargas, mace, torn down stop signs and some fires(all that happened AFTER the tear gassing; before that there weren't huge problems)
I have some pictures(not of the boobs being flashed, those girls got arrested to fast).
Also not pictured: the swat team/riot squad on the friggin roof.
Barely Pictured: I only got the riot team before they got reinforcements, because I didn't feel like getting beat down.

Picture of one of 4 roads this thing was occupying. There's a lot more people to the right, I had couldn't fit them in the frame.

Right before reinforcements. This is kind of the entrance to the area everyone was at. Dumb people thought they were pulling out permanently.

Anddd it extends back now. It only stops going back when the barricade is hit.

I friggin booked it after this one, and it was either the last of the smoke grenades or the first of the teargas ones.
Teargas was later felt a LONG way away since they shot off 7 rounds of em.
Hundreds arrested, THOUSANDS attended.

Apparently after I left a lot more gas went up, and students started fighting back with bottles and in one case a stop sign...and a lit dumpster. Most seem to have been behaving(but perhaps being a little loud) prior to the gas.

I feel bad for the people who live near that mess. I would have been spraying paintballs into the crowd.

The actual residents were mostly just sitting in the balconies and such watching.
It wasn't as violent as the news stories make it seem(very little was thrown). It was just ridiculous.
Get a few thousand drunken kids together and surround them with cops in riot gear...and riots WILL break out.

But yeah, more on point cedar village is known for that kind of stuff. Most residents knew exactly what they were in for when they signed the contract to live there. Once again though, it's negative image is pushed harder by the press since the city wants to tear the whole thing down(even though we're already short on housing)

I lived in Lansing for 3 years. I hated every second of it. They police there are complete assholes. Just to put this in perspective. I got a ticket for 5 over in east Lansing $120 fine and they held my license in-lue-of-bond. So i am guessing they completely over reacted once again. Looks like it was a good time though

looks like it was pure mayhem.
Haha yeah I had a blast. Some poor fuckers that were already cuffed and such though couldn't get their drunk asses away from the tear gas though. Can't imagine that sting.
All in all, apparently 3-4k people were there at one time.
I can't imagine what will happen if our football team ever starts actually winning...a lot more than 3-4k people would be out there..PLUS a lot of alumni who would severely frown upon getting gassed.
