So at the office...

Desktop #1 (XP) was already pre-setup to work in this office. Internet works fine.

Desktop #2 (Windows 7) it's in the other room, internet works.. However switched it for #1 in my room, however the internet doesn't work.

We use a VPN.. I'm not sure how to fix this.. Both are using Ethernet. Tried to repair it but that didn't work.

(Never had this issue before, switched an XP desktop for another XP one, but this Windows 7 one won't work in this room)

Can I just copy the internet settings in here and copy them onto the new desktop? If so how would I do that?

When I plug in the Ethernet cord, it connects to the network group, etc. But it has an X at the very last part the internet.

Please help. :( lol ugh

Shut the VPN off and test again

You need to isolate the issue by device(modem ,router, switches, cables, ect ). Start with the basics and work in equipment and finaly software.

I've never had luck with "public networks" on Windows 7. try to change it to "work network" and you should be okay. Also, as ShadowCaster said, if you have a dhcp server set your config to auto detect so it gets an IP from the server.
