I've had to deal with this before - but I'm curious on everyone else's experience with it.
Facebook and PoF are both showing a huge amount more clicks than I'm actually tracking in prosper. One is showing and charging for about 30-40% more clicks and another is actually showing double what prosper shows.
I'm wondering if my server just isn't powerful enough (I'm using rackspace cloud though which I thought would prevent an issue like this) and thus is causing php/mysql failures, apache isn't resolving/screwing up, my dns settings are messed up in some way, or something else.
I'd look at the raw access logs to compare (and will) but I just turned those on on rackspace - agh - so I have no raw stats at the moment. Then again the Urchin web statistics built into rackspace are showing very similar to what prosper is showing.
I'm upgrading my server to a dedicated one instead of a cloud based one, going to start using a CDN, and am also going to start using an anycast DNS service for my domains. We'll see what happens.
Has anyone else had experiences like these? How did you fix them?
