Charged For Clicks Not Tracked? Experiences?

I've had to deal with this before - but I'm curious on everyone else's experience with it.

Facebook and PoF are both showing a huge amount more clicks than I'm actually tracking in prosper. One is showing and charging for about 30-40% more clicks and another is actually showing double what prosper shows.

I'm wondering if my server just isn't powerful enough (I'm using rackspace cloud though which I thought would prevent an issue like this) and thus is causing php/mysql failures, apache isn't resolving/screwing up, my dns settings are messed up in some way, or something else.

I'd look at the raw access logs to compare (and will) but I just turned those on on rackspace - agh - so I have no raw stats at the moment. Then again the Urchin web statistics built into rackspace are showing very similar to what prosper is showing.

I'm upgrading my server to a dedicated one instead of a cloud based one, going to start using a CDN, and am also going to start using an anycast DNS service for my domains. We'll see what happens.

Has anyone else had experiences like these? How did you fix them?

First I would try direct linking, and compare the stats.

I doubt PoF can do enough volume fast enough to mess with you servers.

can't comment on PoF but Facebook consistently bills me for about 20-40% more clicks than 202 shows in "real clicks". "all clicks" is still about 10% out.

some countries are worse than others.

Adwords does that too.

When I run a campaign, I get 10% more clicks billed from adwords than what I track.

Obviously Google cheats less than others.
