Cheap hosting for small (static) sites

Hey there,

I need two types of hosting, and wondered if someone can suggest very cheap providers:

1. static sites (only .html) need ftp account, and some MB of space
2. small yacg sites (needs php too) but has a small footprint.

what I came across is the namecheap basic package: Namecheap.com - Web Hosting - Shared Hosting Plans - Cheap Virtual Hosting

the drawback is that it seems to be usable with only one domain, although multiple pages would fit on that host

So what I need is something for the above sites, as cheap as possible, and if it's suitable for more sites, support for multiple domains.

Just go with ZenSix.com there's also a 20% promo for Wickfire members (W20OFF I think). their most expensive plan is 30 a year before the discount, and 1.5gb of space, and supports php. Should be more than plenty, and more reliable than using domain registrar based hosting.

Uses cpanel, so easy setup, and can add as many domains as you'd like.
 
18$/year for that plan? not bad...

what's the drawback? speed? heh ...
any opinions? or does someone know a site using that plan?

Zensix is one of the primary recommendations around here, mainly cuz he's an WF regular, everyone I know that has used him had no complaints in regards to speed or reliability. And he doesn't oversell, so very good chance the reliability will stay up even as the company grows.

I personally use Knownhost for my VPS, but you didn't sound like you wanted a VPS anyways :D. I would have gone with ZenSix but he didn't have anything bigger than 2GB, nor has VPSs.

I had dreamhost previously, but I was not happy with their uptime or support response time.
 
Thanks for the reply kblessinggr, the main reason I asked for speed is because I'm located in europe (though the sites are international anyways)

I'll maybe give it a try, sounds good
