I was using 1and1 for $4.95 domains but it recently ended and they bumped it up to $7.99.

Anybody got cheaper right now for 1st year?

Yeah, I used to use them but they only let you buy 2 domains (maybe 3) per credit card.

Godaddy sometimes have $1 promotion you just have to keep an eye for it. I'm not sure if you're interested in .info extension but if you are I think you can register it at Godaddy for $0.99 right now.
