Hey guys,

Just gearing up to do a few more domain purchases, and I think I've stumbled on the most affordable way to pick 'em. . .

1- Godaddy.com has a promotion - buy a domain and ANY non-domain item (including hosting) and the dot-com is $1.99

so...

2- Order dot-com domain, add on basic hosting option for $3.99 each.

3- Domain + hosting is now $5.98

4- Dealtaker.com is a GD affiliate (I'm not - too lazy). They've got coupons including a $20 off a $75 order (best deal, 27% off). So... Order 13 domain names with basic hosting for $77.74, and then chop $20 off that (total of $57.74).

5- Total cost per dot-com domain name = $4.44.

All you need to do then is cancel your hosting accounts (even get a month of 'em!)

Can anyone figure out a way to beat that price?

Have you tried it? Does it work?

I picked up a domain 2 days ago (I only had 1 that I actually needed at the time). I ordered the dot-com plus 1 month of standard hosting for $5.98 and then used a $1 off any order coupon (again, from Dealtaker.com) and that meant the total order was $4.98.

So, while I haven't tried the $50 solution, it worked fine for a single domain. I've got a list of domains that I want to pick up, and I'm thinking I'll just do them all at once for simplicity's sake.

domain + hosting works. just make sure to cancel the hosting immediately (assuming you don't intend to use it) as they renew for the next month automatically. I did this several months ago and forgot to cancel a couple of the hosting accounts. I just saw the renewals on my email and screamed FUCK!
