I searched around and I couldn't find anything for my specific need. I'm looking to purchase a Herman Miller Aeron with a good number of upgrades past the basic chair. Does anyone know if there's a cheaper place than the Herman Miller store to buy one with all the upgrades? I know most people suggest buying them used, but those typically aren't exactly what I want, and the chance of finding the configuration that I want used is pretty damn slim.

tldr, Does anyone know the cheapest place to get a new Aeron chair that will allow me to choose the upgrades? The cheapest I've found for my configuration is $1,200, although I can do $1,000 if I drop the polished chrome (which I only want 'cause it's pretty).

fly to china
have it cloned
fly back with it

and you're still cheaper

i'm probably not even far off with that,

If you want cheap, you have to compromise. Lots of crap out there if you like cheap!

I don't need cheap, but if someone knows of some way to only spend $900 rather than $1,200 that would be awesome. If I have to just bite the bullet and pay full retail I'm willing to do that, but why leave money on the table, ya know? Maybe someone knows something that Google isn't telling me.

Either buy it new or buy it pre-owned. These chairs don't really go on sale. If it's out of your price range there are other brands that are good too but a few hundred cheaper.

I've pretty much come to that conclusion as well, unfortunately. Oh well, I can always use some more deductions. Unless some brilliant person informs me otherwise, I'll probably just go through an authorized Herman Miller dealer to get the 12 year warranty ($1,200 for 12 guaranteed years is pretty reasonable imo).

Actually they do, however not often (like twice a year). Picked mine up on sale last year around early December when there was a sale on them.

Outside of that, you're going to pay full price.

Fuck yeah, +rep. Don't know how I missed this. It looks like they run 2 sales a year, one in June and one around Christmas. Everything is 15% off during the sale. This is exactly what I was looking for. I guess I'm buying myself a Christmas present.

For specificity, the 2011 Christmas sale should start around Nov. 26 and end around Dec 13 (if they stay true to the past).
