A few months ago I started a thread, mentioning an idea I had (at the time I said I had no interest in developing):
http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-shit/94120-does-type-site-exist.html

A few people thought it sounded cool so I said fuck it, it could be the perfect project for me to learn jquery/ajax + gave me an opportunity to build a promo video example for my upcoming site bravetwig.com - so I built it..

slackk | Reach your goals or we embarrass you.
you can click the video link on the site to see what it's about, or just watch it here:
Slackk Promo on Vimeo
and here's a quick screencast video that shows the interface:
slackk | Guide

But basically it's your same ol' project / goal management service, but lets you optionally tie into your facebook or twitter account, and will tweet/status update a random embarrassing message if you don't login and check off your todo items within your specified timeframe. The idea is to provide a little more incentive to stick with your goals..

^-That part is entirely optional, you don't have to connect your twit/fb accounts at all, and instead just use the goal management aspect.

All in all, I have no idea if people would want to use this, the "embarrassment" aspect might scare people away - but I personally used it for a real goal I had (to finish the site up with 10-15 todo items) and it was quite helpful.

I also realized after regging the domain and halfway into development that I subconsciously stole the name from stickk.com (someone mentioned it in the first thread).. couldn't fucking believe it after I realized the name I chose was based on a prior site I saw lol.. talk about subliminal.. was too late into the dev to change the name, so fuck it.

There are probably quite a few kinks, so it's more likely an alpha as I'm the only one that has used it.

Figured I'd toss out the link though.. Even if the site gets no traffic or members, I learned a fuckton about jquery so I'm happy.. I also may even use this project to get my feet wet in phone app development.

Cool concept. Nice design. Love the headline, it's as clear as it gets.

1. May wanna add a subhead that it's a todo list type app. (i know you have the callout, but people will get it faster if it's in the subhead)

2. Move the video promo below the 2 callouts.

3. Why on earth would you have the screenshots shake around during the demo video? It makes it near impossible to see what's going on. Usability Rule #1. Don't shake things you want people to read/see.

4. In the video in one of the examples of embarrassing things that get posted you have something about masturbation. I would say kill that. You will probably get a lot of people who use this for/at work and I think that might be a bit much for an example. That tends to be something that would be VERY embarrassing for people (especially if family are friends with you.) and it may scare them away from using it b/c they will be like "i don;t wanna get THAT embarrassed.

Also, there are two types of people who would need something like this: Lazy people and forgetful people. You are clearly targeting A (tool name, logo, and the fact that you don't wanna embarrass people for being forgetful). Make sure you continue to be clear about your target as I think there are lots of good tools for forgetful people out there and you don't need to go there. But don't know a lot of tools for lazy people.

EDIT: oh wait, i think i get it, YOU make up embarrassing stuff. I thought the user entered some embarassing things in their profile that were revealed if they did not complete it.

Makes sense now...

Awesome site a design, digg the idea. Could be a bit more enticing to sign up... try to hit those triggers a bit more. Maybe list out some possible uses for the app or testimonial/experiences "There was no way I could have finished 3 essays in 2 days without Slackk"/"3 essays, 1 due analysis and a couple of beers at the bar, all in one day thanks to Slackk" type of things.

Target college students, have them pimp you out on facebook.

Please add a footer or some whitespace on the bottom!!

well, that's really cool. It should be built to attract visitors more tempted to click JOIN UP! Yup, please add a footer or some whitespace on the bottom! ^above me says true

simply awesome idea man, send mashable a tip about this website, there is a high chance they may publish it...soon ull get traffic, get monies

I like anything.
Good and simple idea.
Clean and light layout.
Amazing logo.

The only advice is to make space for the video and put it in the left middle side of page without auto-play

Thx for the comments.. made a few updates.

I went into this not really thinking about how I'd go about getting it exposure (aside from the obvious SEO related stuff).. if anyone has ideas, chime in ;)
