Hi there everyone!

!!FIRST - THIS PLUGIN IS GOING TO BE GIVEN AWAY FREE!!

I throw that in there because I just got a ban on BHW for not putting that at the beginning of my post. Mod thought I was preselling (I'm not... don't have time or desire to maintain plugins) and deleted me and then when I PM'd him I got a 30 day ban for talking back :-) never a good call with mods. But the guy insulted my work said it was worthless so I wasn't going to let that slide.

Anyway - here's a plugin I'm working on, which when I finish is going to be given away. Free. As in beer free. Basically the idea behind it is this...

1) Tweak your onpage
2) See what happens in the serps and what screwed you up (which tweak)
3) Revert or continue as needed.
4) Great for making sure you don't screw anything up horribly.

Here's a screencap...

So if you look at the chart, You can see serp rankings. Right now I got a cute little *sun* icon as the revisions, but I'm probably going to change that to a crescent wrench or something that will show you made changes. It's just an icon though.

Like I said almost done (having some sort of plugin conflict I'm fighting through right now) - but I want your guys feedback. What would make this cooler and more useful? Would anyone actually use this or am I the only one who would like to see my serps reacting to page changes right from WP?

Cheers

1) Tweak your onpage <<-- is this automatic or will you receive a notification which one you need to change? would suggest give out a manual way and automatic way

If the site is spammy BH churn and burn site this plugin on automatic change will definitely help
If the site is good manual way of editing the onpage would be nice

very interesting concept.. and I never have seen this before.. when is the ETA???

Well ETA is as soon as I get the kinks worked out of this plugin conflict! Then I'd like to give it out to a few members here with WP, and get some feedback. Then if all is good I'm going to give it to the whole wide world. Like I said - I'm not interested in maintaining this/updating. Once it's working for what it's intended... free for all - for as long as it works. That's my plan at least.

So if I understand you correctly, you're asking if this plugin will automatically tweak your onpage optimization, or notify you if tweaking is needed.

The basic answer is no. This started out as an idea - an easy way to test things like keyword density, titles, h1's - and what actual effect they have on your rankings. Before the system looked like this...

1) Add your target keywords to your keyword tracker.
2) Make some changes to your page on a certain date.
3) Write down the date you made the changes, and what you changed
4) Watch the serps in whatever keyword tracking software you want, and go back to each page and compare it to changes

What I've essentially done is streamlined this. When you want to test out your page changes, you add a keyword on your Wordpress page. That saves that keyword and starts tracking it. Then you make your changes. Instead of cross referencing anything, next time you go back to that page you will see changes, and rankings all in one convenience location. That's the theory at least :-)

I'm really *not* sure how I could make this automatic... like how would you make onpage tweaking automatic? For example - you might want to test adding another 500 words to your article, on your topic. How could I possibly automate that? As far as I know there is no way :-)

The only thing I *could* automate is some kind of notifications. Things like "Your rankings have dropped" or "You're on page 2 - make some changes for that extra push to first page". Stuff like that I guess I could change/automate... but that is *waaay* above my level of WP plugin coding. This was hard enough :-)

Any other ideas though that might be *easier* to implement?

Cheers

Nice idea. How do you collect the SERP changes?

Maybe hit up Cardine or CCarter (MSM and SerpWoo, respectively)

Looking forward , when this Plugin will be avail in the market.

Like I said it's not for sale... It's free.

Hey,

I took a look at Serpwoo and decided not to go with it for a few reasons. No API was the main reason, but there were also a few more.

After looking for a while I ended up settling on Serpbook... One of the big reasons was cost. Entry level plan for serpbook is only $4 per month or something. That makes it accessible to all. Also they have a fairly simple API I felt comfortable working with.

That said, unless you are doing huge levels of tweaking a $4 account from serpbook should be sufficient. 25 keywords at a time.

Any more suggestions before I push this thing out? :-)

Hey guys,

SO... anyone on here want to give this a go? You'll need...

1) A Serpbook account
2) A Wordpress Install
3) Patience. I'm having a plugin conflict (I believe jQuery related) and it's going to take some work. If you have any issues/it works letting me know would be sweet... I'd like to work all the kinks out of it if possible :-)

Cheers
