For those of you living abroad, any of you ever been to / lived in / considered Chile as an option? If any of you have, would appreciate the feedback.

I'm thinking about going abroad somewhere in South America next summer for several months (at least) and am trying to whittle down where I want to go.
Preferably someplace beautiful, low crime, good climate, culture, foreigner friendly, strong economy and low cost of living. Was also considering Argentina.

Uruguay, Punta Del Este (for summering/holiday....) - is suppose to be the shit

I personally love brazil would love a small flat there....

I live in Argentina, if you need any info about it just let me know :)
(my ip is not from argentina cause i am currently traveling {orlando, FL})

I have been considering to move to CHile...my other options are Argentina or Spain.

cant go wrong with any of them... and in latin America with decent AM monies youll be balling.

Helll, for the amount I pay in bills in Miami i could probably have a mansion and a harem in Latin America.

LOL I am Uruguayan and live in Brazil, perfect combination :P

Yeah?
Everyone say Punta is TO DIE FOR! I heard Christmas rocks and in Punta del Este there are different beaches, like for the "fashion crowd", for the "surfer crowd", etc....

Can't wait to get there myself. Only been to South America twice (Brazil and Venezuala) but Argentina, Chile and first of all Uruguay are musts.

I stayed in Chile for a while, Santiago sux compared to other SA cities. If you want to go jim morrison in the desert, then take a walk to the atacama, though not sure about internet there.

the south of chile is nice..... if you like hiking in cold and windy places... , but Argentina is better. Buenos Aires is one of the best cities in the world to be single in. And very cost effective as well.

If you want more nature, Bariloche de los Andes is a nice little ski town or Mendoza which has some of the finest women in the world. If you need the ocean, then try Punta De Esta in Uruagy or if you can do a little more remote Punta De Diablo near the Brazillian border.

I hear Brazil is stellar, but cannot personally comment on it, though I understand it is a bit more rough/3rd world

Interestingthis about Argentina and Uruguay and Chile to some extent is that it is almost %100 European blood among the inhabitants, and not all Spanish - lots of germans, italians and welsh etc..... They basicly killed all the indians just like USA

so it means lots of blond hair and blue eyes as well...

this is very different to the rest of south/central america, where the makeup is alot like mexico ie... a little spanish blood mixed up with the indians.
